In SAP3 technology is divided into tiers based on the technological advancement. The higher the number the more technologically advanced the nation.. Unlike in previous iterations technology tier is no longer just a number but it affects certain elements in your nation. Mainly your base system limit.

In Depth[]

1. Prehistoric[]

The Prehistoric technological tier is categorized by the presence of a lack of, or rudimentary agricultural societies, a broad, or lack of knowledge of any universal sciences, and common, earth-based cultural trends, such as pottery and rituals. This is the most common technological tier in the universe.

2. Classical[]

Prerequisite: Metal Casting

The Classical technological tier is categorized by the retroactive progression of the cultures and engineering abilities of typically prehistoric societies. It can be marked by the presence of natural and astronomical philosophy, manipulation of natural resources like metals, and the prevalence of organized, large-scale war.

3. Industrial[]

Prerequisite: Steam engine (or equivalent),

The Industrial technological tier is categorized by the beginning of large-scale urbanization and scientific boom. Industrial tier societies utilize mechanical power caused by heating water to produce steam. Electricity/Equivalent power network starts to be built up towards the later stages of this tier. Warfare is bloodier than ever before due to new inventions in mechanics and weapons are mass-produced. By this stage it is often the state who provides it's soldiers the equipment.

4. Atomic[]

Prerequisite: Fission

5. Modern[]

Prerequisite: GPS, Internet, Globalisation

6. Interplanetary Colonization[]

Prerequisite: Colonies on other planets.

7. Interstellar Exploration[]

Prerequisite: FTL-drive

Can visit other systems and setup rudimentary disconnected colonies

8. Interstellar Colonial[]

Prerequisite: FTL communications

Military Vessel limit: 750

9. Interstellar Empire[]

Prerequisite: FTL banking and networking

Military Vessel limit: 1 500

System Limit: 60

CAN UTILIZE THE NATURAL WORMHOLE NETWORK

10. Galactic Colonial[]

Prerequisite: TBD

Military Vessel limit: 2 500

System Limit: 100

Can settle Ionic storms without starting from one.

11. Galactic Empire[]
